I know I know… it’s been a while, but I have a good excuse! I’ve moved back to the Dominican Republic, and back to what feels like my other life. I’ll admit I was a little apprehensive before I left, but after all the “Welcome Home”s, and all the hugs, I remember why it was so hard to leave the first time. It’s been a crazy month getting things going, but in some ways it feels like I never left. While I haven’t had a chance to take out the “big” camera yet, here’s a little taste of things thus far. If you know anyone travelling to the DR this winter season, I’d love to do some beach sessions! Let me know! Enjoy!

what a feeling
October 3, 2009I headed out early yesterday morning for a shoot a ways past rockland, and there was a beautiful fog that just wouldn’t lift. It was like driving through clouds, making everything feel like a dream. I was a little early, so I just kept driving, when this tree started to become visible. I just had to stop, it felt like something not of this world. After just staring at it for a while… I grabbed my camera. SO glad I did.
The Best Camera Is The One That’s With You!
September 24, 2009I’ve been following Chase Jarvis for some time now, and admired his iPhone shots, so I thought I’d try it myself. I love the idea that it’s not about bells and whistles, but about capturing a moment, or a feeling! He recently came out with a book and an app with the idea that the best camera is the one that’s with you! I couldn’t agree more! So all that being said.. today’s shot. (side note: I’m testing posting straight from my phone… hope it works!)

It’ll be a collection of new stuff, old favourites, revisited past shoots, daily pictures, and well just about anything and everything Amanda Hayden Photography.
